With its single pylon rising 168.5 metres and a main span of 380 metres, the project ranks as the fourth-largest bridge of its type in the world. Strategically located on the Elazığ–Malatya State Highway, Kömürhan Bridge spans the Euphrates River and serves as a vital transportation link connecting a total of 16 provinces. The project also stands out for having been constructed entirely with domestic resources and expertise.

The 660-metre-long structure provides two traffic lanes in each direction. Consisting of a 180-metre back span, a 380-metre main span, and a 100-metre approach viaduct, the bridge makes a significant contribution to the region’s transportation infrastructure and was constructed using the cable-stayed bridge system.
