Approximately €1.55 billion in international financing has been secured for the Dörtyol–Hassa Highway and Railway Tunnels Project, which will strengthen the transportation infrastructure of the Southeastern Anatolia Region and include Türkiye’s longest tunnels.

The project, which will be implemented by the Doğuş Construction–Eze Construction Joint Venture, will comprise a total of 80 km of infrastructure, including 2 highway tunnels and 1 railway tunnel. The three tunnels, each extending 20 km in length, will pass beneath the Amanos Mountains.

The project will enhance the region’s export capacity by connecting Gaziantep to the Port of İskenderun. With its earthquake-resilient infrastructure, it will also ensure uninterrupted transportation in the event of natural disasters.

The Doğuş Construction–Eze Construction Joint Venture was awarded the Hatay Dörtyol–Hassa Highway and Railway Tunnel Construction Project, tendered by the General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments, under a contract signed on 23 February 2024.

Upon completion, the project will connect the Gulf of İskenderun with the industrial zones located beyond the Amanos Mountains and with Gaziantep via both road and rail networks. It is expected to contribute significantly to the development of regional transportation infrastructure, the growth of trade and tourism activities, the promotion of economic and social development, and the strengthening of Türkiye’s exports.
