The installation of 42 cables were completed on the Kömürhan Bridge, which has a total length of 660 meters. In addition, within the scope of the project, the construction of tunnel with a total length of 4.820 m including double tubes with 4 vehicle crossings and 4 turnouts and road has been completed, the superstructure works continue. The contract for the "Kömürhan Bridge Connection Tunnel and Road" project, was signed by Doğuş - Gülsan Joint Venture on December 20, 2013, and the construction of the project started in January 2014.

This special category bridge which is the 4th single pylon cable-stayed bridge of the world is of great importance in terms of logistics because once it is operational it will the shortest route between Malatya and Elazığ as well as a crossing route for 16 provinces of the Eastern Anatolia. The Kömürhan Bridge Connection Tunnel and Road are planned to be put into service at the end of 2020.
